COURSES/SEMINARS FOR REPRESENTATIVES (AND SCHOOL CONTACTS)
The Solihull NASUWT training day is an ideal opportunity for all reps to update their knowledge of current issues, to explore the strategies and skills needed to support members and to be prepared for changes arising from new initiatives and legislation.
Solihull NASUWT courses/seminars are for school representatives, Health, Safety & Welfare Representatives and NASUWT contacts in Solihull schools. It is particularly important that ALL schools are represented. To confirm your attendance and reserve a place please use the contact form CONTACT FORM; or send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org stating NAME/SCHOOL/CONTACT DETAILS – plus any special dietary requirements.
Lunch will be provided and travel expenses reimbursed.
The courses/seminars will update representatives and contacts on national, local and schools’ issues, including:
- Performance Management
- Continuing industrial action on workload, pensions and jobs
- Key differences between maintained and academy schools
- Information on local consultation and negotiation
- Organising members in your school – and keeping informed
- Individual advice and support
Time off for NASUWT union training
You have a statutory entitlement to time off with pay to attend union training. All you have to do is give your head teacher adequate notice of the date you require off school to attend the training course.
Most head teachers are aware of the entitlement to attend union training. Please contact the Local association for assistance if you encounter any problems. However, the attached leaflet explains your entitlement and it can also be accessed from the NASUWT website by following the link:
